Basically someone (M usually) creates a case.
You roleplay your character's actions through the case.
Ask about clues, look where you think clues may be (for example, in the trouser pockets of the suspect)
Once you have made your deduction, the case creator closes the case and you gain points.

Roleplay = you write out your characters actions like in a book or story.

Easy start to role-play:
What you want to do: Your char looks in the bookshelf and takes out a book and reads it.
Basics: Brandon sees a bookshelf on the wall and then walks to the bookshelf, he takes out a book from it. Brandon then starts reading the book.
Descriptive: Brandon notices a tidy bookshelf on nearest wall, it contains many books with different subjects and covers. Slowly he walks over to bookshelf finding a book he desires to read. Seeing a book about maths, Brandon takes it out from bookshelf opening first page starting to read the contents of it.


What you want to do: Your char asks cafe waiter for a drink.
Basics: While sitting at the table, Brandon raises his hand calling the waiter to come over. When waiter finally comes to the table, Brandon looks in menu picking the a drink. "Can i please have a glass of water?"
Descriptive: With a pretty good mood Brandon sits at a brown wooden table reading drinks menu. Finally picking a drink, Brandon raises his hand in air while looking around for a waiter. The waiter that just finished taking order from table next to Brandon's table sees Brandon and walks over to him to take his order. Looking in the menu once more, Brandon points to the picture of glass of water. "Can i please have glass of water?"

* When you want your character to speak, put the lines between " "
* You write in third-person. (Don't say "I walk around" but "Brandon walks around" or whatever is your character's name)
* Take a book for example, when writing a role-play post, make it look like the text in books.
* Best way to learn role-playing, is to watch others role-play. That's how i learned ^_^
